Nacalai Tesque have extended their range of COSMOCORE core-shell phases with the introduction of COSMOCORE Cholester. This cholesterol bonded phase can be used under the same conditions as C18 phase columns but offers improved selectivity for cis-trans isomers, polyphenols and natural products. COSMOCORE 2.6mm core-shell phases feature a solid core of 1.6mm and a shell of 0.5mm, can be used with conventional HPLC equipment and produce the same efficiency as sub 2mm columns, but operate at less than half the pressure. The COSMOCORE range also includes COSMOCORE C18 which offers good pH stability between 1.5 and 10, good lot-to-lot reproducibility and additionally offers increased loading capacity, an advantage when analysing trace components and injection volumes need to be increased. Columns with i.d.s of 2.1, 3.0 and 4.6mm are currently available.
