Biotech Fluidics has overhauled its DEGASi® inline degasser range, launching a new NG platform built around updated vacuum control and pump technology.
The DEGASi® NG models combine Degasser Vacuum Controller (DVC) technology with fifth‑generation StabiliX™ pumps, which the company says improves vacuum stability and reduces operating noise compared with earlier DEGASi® models. Every model in the range now includes an automated error control output, signalling the host system software if the degasser stops functioning correctly.
The NG platform comprises six models, each intended for a specific combination of flow rate and solvent type rather than general-purpose use. The DEGASi® FlatFilm NG uses a flat film membrane, giving it a metal-free, chemically inert flow path that Biotech Fluidics positions as biocompatible; it sits alongside the existing Teflon-AF single lumen design already used across the range.
Biotech Fluidics has also reduced the environmental footprint of the new models, citing a smaller printed circuit board, fewer components and less housing material per unit than the previous generation.
Procurement and regulatory scrutiny of PFAS-containing materials continues to increase across the sector. In response, the DEGASi® LifeSci NG uses a silicone membrane and, according to the company, contains no wetted fluorinated materials.
