Columns (LC)
Phenyl Hydride™ TYPE C™ columns combine phenyl selectivity with unique silica hydride technology to deliver performance beyond traditional phenyl phases. Their direct silicon–carbon bond and water free surface provide fast equilibration, high stability, and reliable retention for both aromatic and polar analytes.
Unlike conventional phenyl columns, these phases support multiple separation modes. They excel in standard reversed phase methods and also operate effectively in aqueous normal phase (ANP), offering strong retention for polar compounds when using high organic mobile phases. This versatility is ideal for laboratories working with diverse analyte classes or needing seamless method transitions.
These columns provide excellent performance for aromatic compounds, small peptides, sulfonyl structures, azides, and other polar species, often producing sharper peaks, improved selectivity, and reduced column bleed. Their LC MS compatibility makes them especially valuable when low background noise and high sensitivity are critical, with application notes demonstrating these results available here.
Built on a robust, hydrolytically stable surface, TYPE C™ columns maintain precision and longevity even under demanding gradients. With a full range of particle sizes and dimensions—including analytical, guard, and preparative formats, the same selectivity can be applied from method development through scale up.
Phenyl Hydride™ TYPE C™ columns expand what phenyl chemistry can achieve—offering durability, flexibility, and powerful aromatic selectivity for modern analytical workflows.
