Degasser handles volatile and aggressive solvents

Biotech Fluidics has introduced the DEGASi® Integration HFIP, an inline degassing system engineered to manage highly volatile and aggressive solvents used in demanding chromatography workflows.

Designed for compatibility with solvents such as hexafluoroisopropanol (HFIP) and silanes, the system also supports standard mobile phases used in GPC/SEC and HPLC applications. HFIP, widely used for separating polar polymers and peptides that are insoluble in typical organic solvents, presents particular challenges due to its high polarity, acidity and volatility - conditions that can compromise conventional degassing approaches.

The DEGASi® Integration HFIP addresses these issues with a design optimised for stability and consistency. Available in configurations for analytical and semi-preparative use, it supports flow rates up to 3 mL/min and 6 mL/min respectively. An integrated output signal reflecting internal vacuum levels allows continuous monitoring via instrument control systems.

A compact internal design with low swept volume enables rapid solvent exchange, while closed-loop vacuum control helps maintain stable degassing performance and minimise baseline noise. The system is also designed for quiet, low-maintenance operation in routine laboratory environments.
