High-performance solvent delivery for HPLC and UHPLC

Biotech Fluidics has introduced the ASI 540, a standalone solvent delivery pump designed to combine affordability with precision performance for liquid chromatography applications.

Built to support everything from routine HPLC to demanding UHPLC and preparative workflows, the ASI 540 range spans flow rates from 0.5 µL/min up to 300 mL/min, making it suitable for analytical, semi-preparative, preparative and flash chromatography. With stainless-steel or biocompatible PEEK pump heads, the system is engineered to handle pressures up to 15,000 psi (1050 bar) while maintaining broad solvent compatibility.

Control is handled via an intuitive touchscreen interface that provides straightforward access to flow settings, gradient programming, and full system operation. For added flexibility, the pump can also be operated remotely, supporting integration into automated or multi-instrument setups.

Beyond usability, the ASI 540 incorporates a range of engineering features aimed at improving performance and durability. A patented floating pump seal design maintains constant alignment with the piston, helping to reduce wear and extend seal lifetime. The pump head is self-priming and includes an integrated purge function, enabling rapid solvent switching and improved workflow efficiency.

Performance specifications are equally robust, with flow precision exceeding 0.25% across the full operating range and pulsation levels kept below 1%, supporting stable and reproducible separations even under demanding conditions.

Designed with long-term reliability in mind, the system is fully RoHS compliant and CE certified. Maintenance has been simplified through front-access service components and a cartridge-based seal system, allowing for quick and straightforward replacement without specialist tools.
