LECO has released two new application notes highlighting the use of their Pegasus® GC-HRT for dioxin analysis, specifically as it relates to EPA method 1613b—“High Performance Mass Spectrometry of Persistent Organic Pollutants: What Else is in my Dioxin Sample?” and “Meeting the Challenges of EPA 1613b Using Gas Chromatography with High Resolution Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry.”

Both application notes provide proof that the performance of the Pegasus GC-HRT meets or exceeds the strict requirements for EPA 1613b and highlights the advantages of the acquisition of spectral data across a wide mass range without sacrificing high resolving power, high mass accuracy, and sensitivity. The ability of the Pegasus GC-HRT to perform an untargeted analysis in order to identify unknown analytes in addition to dioxin analysis is evidenced as well.
