Compact inline pH sensor

07 Jul, 2025

Biotech Fluidics has introduced the mikron 91, a robust and compact inline pH sensor engineered for both analytical and preparative chromatography, as well as continuous bioprocessing workflows.

Designed for easy integration, the mikron 91 offers precise, temperature-compensated pH measurements within a flow-through format that supports flow rates up to 1,000 ml/min with minimal back pressure - less than 1 bar (14.5 psi). The system is available in two flow cell configurations, allowing users to select the best fit for analytical or preparative needs. Convenient access to the liquid path facilitates fast, straightforward calibration.

Despite its high performance, the mikron 91 is remarkably compact - just 32 mm in diameter and 115 mm in length - making it suitable for installation even in space-limited systems. At the core of the device is a durable, long-life ISFET measuring electrode, paired with either a KCl or Ag/AgCl reference electrode, ensuring reliable and reproducible pH readings. The entire measuring cell is fully biocompatible and can be supplied certified for USP Class VI cleanroom use.

Engineered for minimal maintenance and maximum uptime, the mikron 91 tracks electrode usage, stores calibration data, and logs exposure time within specific pH ranges - supporting predictive maintenance and reducing system interruptions. It communicates via a single USB-C connection and is compatible with multiple chromatography control platforms through ready-to-use drivers or an open communication protocol for customised integration. The system is CE-marked and conforms to international standards.
