Biopharmaceutical developer Repligen's acquisition of prepacked chromatography platform technology from BioFlash Partners was one of its key developments in recent months, according to a new report on the company.

Repligen is the subject of a market report from Companies and Markets which lists the acquisition of BioFlash assets, including the prepacked chromatography platform, as the most recent major step forward made by the firm.

The technology allows 'plug and play' chromatography columns to be produced in a prepacked format, making them easier to implement and use.

Named Opus, the range is available in a variety of different bed heights and column diameters, with commercially accessible resins for chromatography analysis also able to be supplied by Repligen.

"The acquisition and launch of the Opus products reflects Repligen's ongoing commitment to leveraging our core competency in bioprocessing into a broader purification product offering to the biopharmaceutical industry," president and chief executive officer Walter C Herlihy said of the acquisition.
