Waters Corporation has successfully acquired Wyatt Technology, a leading provider of light scattering and field-flow fractionation instruments, software, accessories, and services. This acquisition strengthens Waters' position in bioanalytical characterisation for emerging areas such as cell and gene therapies, which offer substantial growth opportunities. By combining Wyatt's complementary analytical technologies with Waters' global presence and expertise in simplifying complex techniques, the company is better equipped to meet the increasing demands of its customers worldwide.

Dr Udit Batra, President and CEO of Waters Corporation, expressed satisfaction with the completion of the acquisition, stating that it marks a significant milestone in their strategy to drive value creation and accelerate growth. The integration process with Wyatt will be seamless, and the two teams will collaborate to provide unparalleled bioanalytical characterisation solutions to their customers.

The acquisition is expected to have an immediate positive impact on Waters' revenue growth and margin profile. Furthermore, it is projected to generate annual revenue synergies of over $70 million within five years of the transaction's completion. Waters anticipates an accretive effect on its adjusted earnings per share starting from Q1 2024, along with a high single-digit plus adjusted return on invested capital in the fifth year after accounting for taxes.
