Volume 1 Issue 2

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Issue 2 of Chromatography Today. There has been generally good feedback with helpful comments from Issue 1 and it is hoped that this will continue for Issue 2! It was particularly gratifying to receive responses from mainland Europe and, bearing this in mind, it is worth noting that while Chromatography Today is endorsed and strongly supported by The Chromatographic Society it is not ‘the organ’ of the Society. The main concept behind Chromatography Today is that it should reflect all the important developments in the field of separation science. This is also what the Society tries to do with its programme of scientific meetings but we would be the first to admit that we do not hold a monopoly of wisdom on matters concerning what are the key chromatographic developments. Accordingly for future issues we would very much welcome receiving independently contributed articles as well as those commissioned by our editorial team (enquire initially to: chromsoc@meetingmakers.co.uk). Given that The Chromatographic Society is “a UK society with international connections” contributions reflecting a European dimension would be especially welcome.
