Analytical gas chromatography column

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc have combined analytical gas chromatography column with a built-in guard column to extend the life of the analytical column without compromising its chromatographic performance.

The TraceGOLD Gas Chromatography Columns with SafeGuard is suitable for use in a broad spectrum of applications that necessitate the injection of involatile sample matrix, particularly in environmental, forensic, food safety and petrochemical analyses. It is available in a range of guard column lengths and analytical column specifications.

The chief advantage of the new equipment is that users can cut columns during routine maintenance with no impact on the chromatography performance of the analytical column. Gas chromatography columns are routinely cut to remove contaminant deposits, which prolong the life of the equipment.

Conventional columns ran this routine at the risk of reducing the separation accuracy, peak resolution and column quality over time. The built-in SafeGuard eradicates these problems, resulting in greater efficiency and accuracy.
