GC pioneers of the first hour
Sep 28 2016
Just four years after the drivers of GC technology were awarded the Nobel Prize, Shimadzu developed its first GC system in Japan. That was in 1956, and this year Shimadzu celebrates its 60th GC anniversary. In the last decades, the company has succeeded with many technical milestones that are meanwhile standards today. The most recent development, representing this spirit of innovation, is the Tracera high-sensitivity GC system with its novel BID (barrier ionization discharge) detector, which can detect all substances except helium and neon. Developing technologies, exploring new grounds and surpassing previous technical limitations has made Shimadzu a market leader and a well-established name in science and industry.
