B&W Tek's NanoRam handheld Raman spectrometer has been recognised at the Laboratory Equipment 2012 Reader's Choice Awards in the Spectrometry category.

B&W Tek have received the Reader's Choice Award for the second year in a row, and is set to accept the award during this year's Pittcon Conference and Expo being held in Orlando, Florida.

The NanoRam is a state-of-the-art compact Raman spectrometer and integrated computing system, representing a new class of small, handheld instruments for materials identification and verification within cGMP compliant facilities. The advanced equipment is based on an open systems architecture design that can support a wide range of applications in multiple industries.

The NanoRam is designed for use by non-specialists, and the company have taken several measures to ensure that it is easy to use and operates single-handedly. The device is the only handheld Raman spectrometer to feature both a TE cooled spectrometer and a stabilized laser source and is unique for its Wi-Fi capabilities.
